I scare them all away

I scare them all away

writing messages to tell me
they want to get to know me
seeing me in profile
making up their own stories

they always want to meet me
but I hesitate
when they get too close to me
I scare them all away

go out for tea just us
and a couple of animals
stuffed into chairs
in a poorly lit hole in the wall

wanting to tell me their secrets
wanting everything explained
but when it gets too creepy
they run and rip their slacks

tracing every word
singing every melody
my existence is too absurd
to fit their childhood dreams

running to the army
focusing their death ray
kissing some hero
while credits roll over my face

Non-Binaries

Non-Binaries never wrong nor right  neither black nor white  always poor framing  truth escapes while waiting    you I can’t deny I can’t explain “I” there’s another dimension  we’re always missing    easy solutions feel good  crushing doubts with boots  if nature only gave us straight lines  if god was on our side    it’s never green nor orange  look to the forests  subtleties you miss  haunt dreams in an embrace    not those ones and oh’s  didn’t write the code  swallowing contradictions  before they explode

Mayor McGuffin
