And then some

I've maxed my cards
we'll need groceries

but you should come out
if only for the weekend

dialogue doesn’t stop
it's never boring to me

I rely on our friendship
to get through these evenings

when the world outside
looks dangerous and ugly

we're saved by the thought
we've got nothing worth stealing

got a new recipe
saved you some books

of course we'll sing
despite these moods

I need to set you straight
you'll tell me a thing or two

our hearts can't bear another year
without me and you

Life of the ****

Life of the ****   I love your body   I made a map that I study   there’s just one thing   that distracts me from loving   ideas haunt me   they take me out for shopping   through imagination   stretching endlessly   tell me what you’re building   behind those eyes   come live with me   in the life of the mind   we go from the streets   to penthouse high   but there’s something   more precious by design   enough parties   enough clothes   can’t spend hours   talking about sports   give me a novel or a film obscure my mind’s got enough   junk to last months

Mayor McGuffin

Mayor McGuffin We are products of our times  these thoughts aren’t mine  everything passes through us  from sewers to the divine  I vibe on your signal  you wave you particle  merge into a molecule  divide for reaction deaf dumb and blind  slaves to the grind  compressed coal hearts  exploited diamond mines we see through the veil  dancing snake-tailed  impatient for the end  skipping enlightenment  I drive this carcass  despite warnings  from weather service  to deliver you a package
