not troubling
do we ever
step back from struggle
how often do we reflect
on our own imbroglios
only to conclude there's
something as off
as the planet's
own movement
when are we ever
un-desperate
just for minutes
every two weekends
when there's still
cash in the wallet
and no trace yet
of Sunday dread
I'm not gonna sit back
and let it all happen
but pardon me
for a minute
while I uncouple
the brakes
on this speeding
sandwich
before we're all
knee-deep in the ketchup
