My journey standing still
you get kicked upstairs
forced to care
just to understand
what’s happening
blows come hard and fast
you’re rearranging the past
just to make the violence
make sense
so you pull the millennia back
and there’s still that lack
of common sense
and human kindness
until you’re forced to conclude
there’s heavy power put against
the desires for what’s best
in the lives of humans
